BUTTE — A man was discovered dead following an injury at his home early Monday morning, as reported by Butte Police.

In a media release, Sheriff Ed Lester stated that the man was found at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Monday.

The release detailed that the man suffered a severe arm injury after breaking a window at his residence. He then reportedly left his home on foot while bleeding heavily.

Sheriff Lester mentioned that a preliminary investigation suggests the man died from blood loss, with alcohol potentially contributing to the incident.

The man’s body is being sent to the Montana State Crime Lab for an autopsy. His identity is being withheld until his family is notified.

The investigation is still ongoing, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available. Sheriff Lester assured the public that there is no threat related to this incident.
